Charities
The Virginia Wine Country Half Marathon, 10K and 5K supports several local clubs and charities.
Through its support and involvement, the race benefits and empowers the community.
Loudoun Road Runners
The Loudoun Road Runners is open to all runners and walkers no matter their abilities or goals. Our members come in many shapes and sizes, range from young to old, and include everyone from fresh beginners to seasoned ultra marathoners.
Founded in 1992, the club is a non-profit organization sanctioned by the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA). Being part of the RRCA network of more than 2,400 clubs nationwide carries a number of membership benefits.
Members meet every Tuesday and Thursday morning in Leesburg, Virginia. On Saturday and Sunday mornings you’ll find them further afield at scenic points around Loudoun County. They go out rain or shine, in sleet or heat.

Virginia Special Olympics
The Special Olympics mission remains as vital today as it did when the movement was founded 50 years ago in 1968. We provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. This gives them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
